New Zealand won the toss and decided bowl against England
Kane Williamson again won the toss and put England into bat in the first day game of this series in Dunedin. The rain from yesterday had moved away and it was beautiful morning, although there could well be some early life for the seamers on a well-grassed surface.
Eoin Morgan said he, too, would have bowled and confirmed an unchanged side for England after their thrilling victory in Wellington.
New Zealand made one switch, the fit-again Ross Taylor coming in for Mark Chapman, meaning they retain the twin-spin attack with Ish Sodhi alongside Mitchell Santner. The home side have never lost a match at University Oval. Keeping that run going will set up a series decider in Christchurch.
New Zealand 1 Martin Guptill, 2 Colin Munro, 3 Kane Williamson (capt), 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Tom Latham (wk), 6 Henry Nicholls, 7 Colin de Grandhomme, 8 Mitchell Santner, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Ish Sodhi, 11 Trent Boult
England 1 Jason Roy, 2 Jonny Bairstow, 3 Joe Root, 4 Eoin Morgan (capt), 5 Ben Stokes, 6 Jos Buttler (wk), 7 Moeen Ali, 8 Chris Woakes, 9 Adil Rashid, 10 Tom Curran, 11 Mark Wood
