JP Duminy, South Africa’s captain, has won his second successive toss and chose to bowl again. This time, the threat of rain – which washed out the preceding women’s T20I after only 15.3 overs of play – was the major influence behind his decision.
Despite losing the first T20I by 28 runs, South Africa named an unchanged XI. India made one forced change to their pace attack, abdominal stiffness ruling out Jasprit Bumrah and giving Shardul Thakur the opportunity to make his T20I debut.
